​Local BEST Group Veszprém​

​The very first BEST conference was held in 1989 in Berlin, where the structure and the mission of the organisation were defined. Delegates from all over Europe were present there – from Barcelona, Berlin, Bologna, Budapest, Eindhoven, Grenoble, Helsinki, Lisbon, Ljubljana, London, Louvain-la-Neuve, Paris, Stockholm, Trondheim, Torino, Vienna, Warsaw and Zurich.

 

A year later, in the autumn of 1990 the University of Veszprém also founded a local group, which became a member of BEST in April 1991, and a full member in the spring of 1992.

Since then BEST Veszprém has organized numerous events for both Hungarian and foreign students. Our most important events are the summer courses, held every summer for 22 students from Europe. During these events the students not only learn about a given topic but they also have the chance to explore Veszprém and its neighbourhood, and to come to know the Hungarian culture.

About 2 years ago there were some changes in the composition of the board. Now we have 7 board members.

In every year we have about 15-20 active members who visit our weekly meetings. We try to do our BEST, organizing diferent kind of events like engineering competitions, mini cultural exchanges, summer courses and other events connected to Europe, BEST, Veszprém :)
